I went perfect in my college picks, so hopefully I can keep it going with my NFL selections. Two marquee rivalries--Ravens-Steelers and Jets-Patriots--headline the NFL's Week 13 action.
1:00
Washington at New York Giants
Mike Shanahan has given a good effort in his first year in Washington, but the Skins just arent that talented. The Giants get another much-need win, keeping pace with the Eagles in the NFC East. 28-20
4:15
Atlanta at Tampa Bay
The Bucs are in dire need of a win against an above-.500 team. They will struggle to make the playoffs if they can't jump this barrier. Unfortunately for them, I can't see Tampa beating the red-hot Falcons. Tampa plays them tough, but ultimately falls 28-17.
Dallas at Indianapolis
As a Cowbys fan, this seems like another one of those close losses that Dallas has known so well this year. Peyton Manning will be eager to get back on track against Dallas' secondary, which is prone to giving up lots of passing yards. The Cowboys make it interesting, but lose to the Colts 35-31.
8:20
Pittsburgh at Baltimore
I saw an interesting stat that I can't recount right now, but basically, Ben Roethlisberger has a very good record against the Ravens. Last year, Pittsburgh beat Baltimore three times. In their first meeting this year, the Ravens beat the Roethlisberger-less Steelers 17-14. Pitt gets back on track against its division rival with Big Ben back under center. Steelers flip the score of the first 2010 meeting and win 17-14.
Monday night
New York Jets at New England
I just think the Patriots will be too ready for this one. Rex Ryan will have the Jets prepared and playing well, but it just won't quite be enough. 24-20 Pats.
Hopefully these two teams meet again in the playoffs. Patriots-Jets is becoming an even better rivalry now with the colorful Ryan at the helm of the Jets and the off-putting Bill Belichick still directing the buisness-like Patriots.
