NFL season gets under way with marquee matchup, Manning done for the year?

The NFL season kicks off today with a matchup at Lambeau Field between the league's past two Super Bowl champs -- the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers.
The Saints were busy at work in the offseason, with quarterback Drew Brees reportedly getting together some of the best-organized offseason workouts of any team during the lockout. The Packers, meanwhile, famously decided against any workouts and took some heat for it.
I think the general consensus in this game is the Packers will win comfortably but I think the Saints' extra work do make a difference here. Still, I can't go against the Packers and the way they finished last year, not to mention they have possibly the best QB in the league in Aaron Rodgers. The Saints finished near the top of the league last year in points allowed per game, but their final defensive performance of the season was horrid, as they gave up 41 points in a wild-card playoff loss to the Seahawks.
Still, I think the Saints keep it close but ultimately fall to the Packers, 28-21.
I'll have more predictions for Sunday's games later.

MANNING OUT FOR THE YEAR?
WNDE, a radio station out of Indianapolis, is reporting that Peyton Manning is out for the season. The Colts denied the report, but a show host for the radio station has said that a source told him that Manning has had a second surgery on his neck and is done for this season. This will be an interesting story to follow throughout Thursday. If he is done, surely the chances of the Colts making the playoffs are over, right? Analysts believe this team to be pretty lackluster besides having Manning.
If the rumor is true, is the AFC South this year's NFC West from last year? Who would win the division? Could the Texans, who would be the favorite if Manning is done, get to 9-7? I'm not so sure.
