Giants sweep Tigers to World Series title

The Giants got in the Halloween spirit Sunday night. They wear orange and black and took the brooms out like witches and beat the Tigers in Detroit 4-3 in the 10th inning to sweep the Tigers 4-0 on the way to a World Series championship.
Marco Scutaro singled in the 10th, scoring Ryan Theriot to give San Francisco the eventual winning run. In the bottom of the 10th, the Tigers didn't even get anyone on base against Giants closer Sergio Romo (meaning at least one Romo won Sunday. Tony Romo wasn't as good as he threw for interceptions as his Cowboys fell to the Giants 29-24).
The Giants are the first team to hit the fewest home runs in MLB and win the World Series since 1982 when the Cardinals did the same thing. Crazy.
Pablo "Panda" Sandoval was named the MVP. He hit a memorable three home runs in Game 1 and went 8 for 16 during the four games.
San Francisco has now won two out of the last three World Series, and seemingly came out of nowhere to win both. Two years ago, in the NLCS, the Giants toppled the favored Phillies in six games. This year, the Giants were down 2-0 to the Reds in the NLDS and won three straight -- in Cincinnati no less -- to stun the Reds and move on to the NLCS. They did it again in the NLCS against the Cardinals -- they got down 3-1 but won three straight games and ended up going on to seven straight postseason victories with the World Series sweep. These Giants also overcame adversity this year. Starting closer Brian Wilson was out in April with an arm injury and had the second Tommy John surgery of his career. In August, one of their best hitters, Melky Cabrera,  was suspended for taking PEDs.
I'm not a fan of a sweep in the World Series, and would've rather have seen the Tigers win it, but congrats to the Giants and it looks like they have quite the club there by the bay in San Francisco.
