NFL picks

I went 5-3 in college picks. Now on to the NFL. I went 7-1 last week in NFL picks and am now 25-15 on the year.

Patriots vs. Rams, 1 p.m. CBS in London
The Patriots haven't shown the ability to blow many teams out this season except for their opener against the Titans and the second half against the Bills. The Rams have been a tough team so far this season. I expect both teams to look a little sluggish all the way across the pond.
Patriots 23, Rams 17

Dolphins at Jets, 1 p.m. CBS
The Jets won the first meeting between these teams in Miami 23-20 in overtime. The Jets got a good effort last week in a road overtime loss at New England. I like the Jets at home despite the Dolphins winning their last two games -- over the Bengals and Rams.
Jets 21, Dolphins 17

Falcons at Eagles, 1 p.m. FOX
Atlanta and Philadelphia are both coming off bye weeks. The Falcons nearly lost at home to the Raiders at home two weeks ago while the Eagles gave up a fourth quarter lead and lost to the Lions at home, causing defensive coordinator Juan Castillo to be fired. This should be a tight game, but I think the Eagles will be too discombobulated to win this one. And Michael Vick hasn't shown signs of not turning the ball over.
Falcons 24, Eagles 20

Redskins at Steelers, 1 p.m. FOX
Washington nearly downed the Giants last week in New York but gave up a 77-yard touchdown to Victor Cruz with 1:13 left and fell 27-23. The Steelers struggled early against the Bengals in Cincy, but got their first road victory of the season. I think this will be another close game but the 'Skins will fall short.
Steelers 30, Redskins 27

Giants at Cowboys, 4:25 p.m. FOX
The Cowboys gutted out a win last week at Carolina (which I saw in person and might write more about later) but lost linebacker Sean Lee in the process. He has a toe injury and is out for the season. That is a big blow for the Cowboys as they are facing a Giants team starting to click on offense. I find it hard to believe the Cowboys will be able to sweep the season series against the Giants (they won in New York in Week 1 24-17). The Cowboys barely have an above .500 record in new Cowboys Stadium. They will also be without DeMarco Murray again.
Giants 27, Cowboys 21

Saints at Broncos, 8:20 p.m. NBC
The Saints have won two straight and Drew Brees has been on fire. The Broncos are coming off a bye week and two weeks ago scored 35 straight points to stun the Chargers in the second half and win in San Diego 35-24. Should be a pretty high-scoring, close contest between Brees and Peyton Manning.
Broncos 33, Saints 27

49ers at Cardinals, 8:30 p.m. Monday night ESPN
The Cardinals have dropped three straight after starting the season 4-0. Last week, the Cardinals lost to Minnesota while the 49ers won Thursday night against the Seahawks 13-6. Both teams have struggled on offense recently.
49ers 16, Cardinals 10
