No. 21 Louisville vs. No. 3 Florida, 8:30 p.m. ESPN
The Cardinals, out of the Big East, finished with an 10-2 record this season with losses to Syracuse (45-26) and Connecticut (23-20 in triple overtime) late in the season. Syracuse went to a bowl while UConn did not. The Cardinals defeated Rutgers narrowly in a defacto Big East title game in the last game of the regular season. Louisville had a pretty strong passing game but weak running game this season.
Florida went 11-1 with its only loss coming to Georgia, 17-9, in October, in a contest where Florida had six turnovers. If the Gators had won that game, they would have been playing Alabama in the SEC title game instead of Georgia. The Gators' passing game was not good this year but it had a pretty good running game and a very strong defense, which ranked third in the country in points per game allowed (12.9).
I think Louisville will have a hard time scoring on Florida, which shut down teams all year.
