Tom O'Brien will be associate head coach for offense and tight ends coach. Jon Tenuta, a graduate of UVa and someone known for aggressive defenses through the years at many schools, has been named defensive coordinator. Jeff Banks, speculated for weeks to be special teams coordinator, has been officially tapped to improve that unit after a decade at UTEP. He will also coach the running backs. Marques Hagans, a former quarterback at Virginia in the mid-2000s and graduate assistant the past couple seasons at UVa, will lead the receiving corps.
