Redskins at Cowboys pick

8:30 p.m. ESPN

I have been watching Monday Night Countdown and the cast has been singing Dallas' praises. Hopefully the players are tuning it out and focusing on the game. I heard coach Jason Garrett say in a locker room video a couple weeks ago about a "nameless, faceless opponent" and Dallas needs to do that with the rival Redskins and also make sure it doesn't get caught up in its own hype.

The offense should be able to score on the Redskins. RB DeMarco Murray has gained at least 100 yards on every team this season and Washington is without one of its best run defenders in Brian Orakpo. Once the line controls things, Tony Romo can dial up some play action and get the passing game going.

I am a little worried about the defense. Washington has had a good offense this season that moves the ball well, especially through the air. Dallas' defense is improved under Rod Marinelli but is still giving up 6.1 yards per play. It also probably doesn't have a lot of film on QB Colt McCoy, who hasn't played a lot in recent seasons but came in and led Washington to a win over the Titans last week. Now that is Tennessee, but McCoy is capable. He has always been accurate but hasn't had a great arm. He also didn't have a very good supporting cast when he was drafted by the Browns a few years ago. He has better players around him in D.C. If he utilizes his weapons -- and Washington has some good ones in WRs Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson, TE Jordan Reed, and RB Alfred Morris -- the Redskins can score some TDs. Hopefully the Cowboys can limit the damage.

Monday night division rivalry game. Crazy things can happen. With the Redskins at 2-5 and the Cowboys at 6-1, I feel good about Dallas' chances, but I would not be shocked if the game is close, especially if the 'Boys cough up a couple turnovers which they have been doing some games. Dallas has 13 turnovers in seven games.
Cowboys 27, Redskins 17
