NFL picks

Season: 25-21; last week: 0-0; two weeks ago: 6-1

Seahawks (6-3) at Chiefs (6-3), 1 p.m. FOX
Seattle might be getting its act together but Kansas City is generally one of the best home teams in the NFL when it is having a good season. I believe the Chiefs will be too much for the Seahawks at Arrowhead Stadium.
Chiefs 23, Seahawks 20

Eagles (7-2) at Packers (6-3), 4:25 p.m. FOX
This should be a fantastic game. Some people are wondering if the Eagles are actually going to be better off with Mark Sanchez at quarterback rather than Nick Foles. I think we just need to wait and see. The Panthers were not a good test for Sanchez. Playing at Green Bay will show his true colors a bit more, though the Packers defense is still nothing special. Should be a game in at least the 30s.
Packers 36, Eagles 33

Lions (7-2) at Cardinals (8-1), 4:25 p.m. FOX
Detroit has been the master of winning the close game this season. The Lions have won their last three games by a combined six points.  I think they will win another close one. Arizona is very good at home but lost Carson Palmer for the year to a torn ACL last week. Drew Stanton just won't be able to do enough against a stout Lions defense.
Lions 20, Cardinals 17

Patriots (7-2) at Colts (6-3), 8:30 p.m. NBC
The Patriots capped their current win streak -- at five -- with a dominating win at home vs. Denver two weeks ago. After a bye, the Pats get a solid Colts team. Andrew Luck is on his way to being one of the premier QBs in the NFL, but I think New England will get the best of Indy on this night.Should be a good, tight game, however.
Patriots 34, Colts 30

  1. You're right on the Pack's D. It's the main reason why I'm not buying the Super Bowl winner hype that SI is selling. It's only one game, but we held a Chip Kelly-led offense to 20 points. That's something. I need to see more, but if we're figuring it out on D... look out!

  2. Well I did pick up your D in one of my fantasy leagues this week. Going against the Vikes. Should be a favorable matchup.
