It's conference championship weekend for college football. Starting out, I'll just pick the Friday games.
Season: 76-37; last week: 7-2
MAC championship: Northern Illinois vs. Bowling Green in Detroit, 7 p.m. ESPN2
Same matchup as a year ago. Last season, Bowling Green came into the game 9-3 and big underdogs to undefeated Northern Illinois. This year, though, the Falcons are just 7-5 and losers of two straight. I like the Huskies, who have only lost to Arkansas and Central Michigan this season and has won six in a row.
Northern Illinois 31, Bowling Green 23
Pac-12 championship: No. 7 Arizona vs. No. 2 Oregon in Santa Clara, Calif., 9 p.m. FOX
All the dominoes fell the Wildcats' way last week and they beat rival ASU to clinch the Pac-12 South. Arizona is probably the last team Oregon wanted to see. The Wildcats have beaten the Ducks twice in a row, including 31-24 this year at Oregon, a terrific victory for U of A. This game will be on a neutral field, though, at the 49ers' new stadium. An Oregon win clinches a spot in the four-team college football playoff for the Ducks. Arizona needs to win and have a lot of help to make the playoff but it wouldn't be that long of a long shot (No. 4 Florida State could certainly lose against Georgia Tech, No. 5 Ohio State is without QB J.T. Barrett against a hot Wisconsin team, and No. 6 Baylor plays a very tough Kansas State team, so weirder things have happened). I like the Ducks, who are healthier than the first meeting this season and will certainly be out for a little revenge.
Oregon 38, Arizona 30
