College football opener in The Sunshine State

Picks record last year: 121-53 (.695)

It's here, it's here! Sort of. "Week Zero" features two FBS games tonight, this all-Florida matchup and Arizona at Hawaii. Next week, there's a full slate of games starting Thursday.

Miami vs. No. 8 Florida in Orlando, 7 p.m. ESPN
The Hurricanes and Gators kick off the college football season in what is their 56th meeting. Miami leads the series, 29-26. The Gators have a great QB coming back in Feleipe Franks and a bunch of
starters returning on defense, too. The Hurricanes have a good defense, but the offense was bad last season, and the QB is redshirt freshman Jarren Williams. Plus, this is Manny Diaz's first season as a head coach, while Florida is going into its second season under coaching veteran Dan Mullen, and the Gators went 10-3 last season, finishing No. 7 in the AP poll, their first finish in the top 10 since 2012. Florida is just better -- its shows in the line as it is a seven-point favorite -- and will probably have a few more fans in Orlando. I'm taking the Gators.
Florida 27, Miami 17
