NFL picks

Season: 30-23; Thursday: 2-1

Redskins (3-8) at Colts (7-4), 1 p.m. FOX
The Redskins have decided to start Colt McCoy this week over Robert Griffin III. I think it is a great move. McCoy played very well in helping Washington come back to down Tennessee earlier this season when RG3 went down with an injury. The next week, he completed 25 of 30 passes in the Redskins' big victory over Dallas. I think the 'Skins will put a little scare in Indy, but it won't be enough. Andrew Luck and the Colts offense will be too good.
Colts 28, Redskins 20

Browns (7-4) at Bills (6-5), 1 p.m. CBS
It is very late November and how often have these teams played each other this late in the season with the game being meaningful for both squads? That's the situation the Browns and Bills find themselves in, though, with Cleveland a half-game behind Cincinnati in the hyper-competitive AFC North and the Bills trying to stay within shouting distance of the AFC wild card race. I think this is going to be a terrific game. Cleveland has been good on the road some games and not -as-good some other games. Same for Buffalo in home games (crazy to think all that snow is off the field in Buffalo!). Buffalo did a nice job of taking care of business last week through schedule changes, pounding the Jets in Detroit. Cleveland gutted out a road win at Atlanta. I like the Bills defense to step up in this one and hold down the Browns enough to take a critical win.
Bills 23, Browns 20

Chargers (7-4) at Ravens (7-4), 1 p.m. CBS
Another game that is critical for both teams. Baltimore needs to keep up with the rest of the AFC North and the Chargers need to stick with the Broncos and Chiefs in the AFC West while trying to stay in a conference wild card slot. Baltimore has played well at home this year and the Chargers haven't looked great in a game since beating the Jets, 31-0, Oct. 5.
Ravens 28, Chargers 21

Patriots (9-2) at Packers (8-3), 4:25 p.m. CBS
Easily the game of the week for me. Nobody is playing better than New England right now, but Green Bay could be close at home. The Packers' last two home games have been 53-20 and 55-14 wins over the Eagles and Bears, respectively. Tom Brady is a bit better than Mark Sanchez and Jay Cutler, though. Hopefully this game lives up to the billing. I'm expecting a game at least in the high 20s and probably into the 30s. I really, really respect the Packers at Lambeau but right now, it is looking almost impossible to pick against the Patriots, who have won their last four games by an average of 24.3 points. The last three in that stretch were no slouches (Denver, Indianapolis, Detroit).
Patriots 38, Packers 36

Broncos (8-3) at Chiefs (7-4), 8:30 p.m. NBC
Call me crazy but I like the Chiefs in this one. Yes, last Thursday they gave the Raiders their first win. But Kansas City is a different animal in Kansas City. And you have to know Andy Reid has righted the ship a bit over the last week-and-a-half. The Chiefs won't look as bad as they did at Oakland. And Denver has certain;y been vulnerable. Kansas City played Denver really tough earlier this season in Denver. The Broncos won, 31-24.
Chiefs 27, Broncos 24
